By, Annie MacDonald, The Expanding Heart

As a Spiritual Healer and Medium, I often find that when someone is holding onto anger, resentment or blame, the next important step to their spiritual growth and freedom is forgiveness.

Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did was o.k.”, but it is recognizing that we are all perfect children of God’s light and that the soul of the person can be forgiven, even if the act of that person cannot.

Holding onto anger, blame and resentment hurts us, not the object of that attention.  The Buddha states, “Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”

Right now you can release those toxic energies keeping you from the love and joy that are your birthright.  So stop giving your power away to someone who abused it.  With the willingness to forgive, you will be able to receive the most loving gift and freedom of flight into the light.

Following are three exercises that only take a couple minutes, but whose affects can last a lifetime:

1) Cover yourself in light.

Imagine the person who has caused your hurt, trauma or anger.  Surround both you and their “higher self” in God’s Light (or the “White Light” or The Pink Light of Compassion).

With courage, strength and hope, say to them, “The God that is within you, is the God that is within me.  I love and forgive you with all of my Heart.”  Keep saying this with all of your might until you feel the shift.  (If you are having trouble, ASK YOUR HIGHER POWER, ANGELS and GUARDIAN ANGELS FOR HELP!  They love it and you will too!)

By the way, you can also put yourself in the bubble and forgive yourself.

2) If you are more comfortable with a Prayer, call on any Ascended Master; Jesus, Buddha, Archangel Michael, etc.

Archangel Zadkiel, specifically provides Forgiveness for Self and Others:

“Archangel Zadkiel, (or your Light of Choice), I am ready and willing to forgive myself and others for any past pain. Help me heal so I can have peace once again. I know you can do this with me, and with your help I am ready to experience full freedom and move forward with compassion and understanding.”

3) if all else fails and if you’re still in a rut, hug your mutt!

Bless your Heart,
